I have read all the security evaluations on Amazon from all the unique security MFG's. Skylink, GE, Bulldog Security and so on. I was impressed that the reviews on this product did not mention something about poor excellent, poor range and so on. I very first named the AAS safety persons and was impressed that more than the phone they could answer all my queries. I would like to let you know that the principal programmer/ auto dialer is the same on all their units from AAS100 to AAS600 systems. The only difference is the quantity of door sensors, motion detectors, sirens and so on and so on. They have so many additional add on's for their safety method it is unbelievable, such as remote wireless sirens, smoke detectors, gas detectors, water detectors and alot more and a lot more. So I ordered a custom unit from them: 1 main programmer/dialer, 1 remote siren and 3 motion detectors and two remote crucial pods. I setup the method on my kitchen table in about 1/2 an hour. The siren is loud, due to the fact I purchased the separate wireless siren unit it can be placed anyplace you have an AC outlet. The motion detectors operate spectacular. Not also sensitive but perform at long distances. I put a single on the motion detectors in my den and it looks into my kitchen and will detect you if you walk at the finish of the kitchen 40ft away.The major programmer has built in battery backup. I have a 3000 sq ft home and I don't know exactly where to put the 3rd detector, the other two detectors cover my complete initially floor. I've only had it for a week but I am impressed. You have the capability to dial into this technique and listen to what is happening, works with my blackberry cellphone. You can set the exit and entrance times and countless even more good programming tricks that you do not discover in other systems.This safety program with my Avaak Vue wireless cameras are best. When the alarm goes off I am able to appear in and see what's going on from anywhere. Will update in a couple of months.
UPDATE:
The method is outstanding. No difficulties. I use VOIP Vonage for my property telephone and it works superb on out going alerts from the AAS 100 security method, but on incoming calls the Vonage answering service will answer and I can not dial into the AAS 100. SO....I purchased the VOIP Grandstream Handystream 286 adapter from Amazon went to CallCentric and signed up for their VOIP phone . Its best for a alarm method considering that it will dial out and I can now call in to my alarm. Expense? $1.95 per month. Awesome! If anyone finds a superior VOIP source let me know!
Second update:
Found out my dog can set off the motion detectors. No predicament, raised the pointing angle and now my pug does not set off the alarm. My wife and I set it every time we go out. Even with the dog at dwelling. Like this program.
Third update Feb 2011:
Method nonetheless working outstanding. Had to replace the 9V batteries for two of the motion detectors, so I would say they last about 6 months. I replaced the batteries on all the units anyway. Hassle-free to do, and I did not have to reprogram any of them. Amazon has some amazing offers on 9V Alkaline batteries. I also dropped my VOIP CallCentric and I just use the Vonage VOIP. No want for two systems, I in no way had to dial into the security system, no false alarms!
Had this alarm method for the last two months. Also, bought the GSM Cellular Module, considering that I do not have a land-line.
Just after becoming broken into my preceding location, an alarm system was a must have for our new apartment property. Before moving in, I began the installation. At first, I was concerned with the directions which primarily consisted of a photograph example, but the installation was a breeze. The door alarms are basic to mount and based on a flawless technology. The motion detectors were a bit even more troublesome, but I once I figured out how the jumpers coordinated with the spectrum of detection (which is enclosed in those directions), it was fine. I set mine to a huge distance, so I must not have been shocked that the cat set it off. At a mid-distance, my cat did not trigger it at all.
While I could have employed a bit a lot more description of the modes (Property, AWAY, and so on.), all of the directions for programming the method had been clear and concise. The flexibility of this method is impressive. You can system up to ten phone numbers and customize the timer delays as a lot as you need to. The important fobs are amazing. I have good friends that paid $800.00 for their systems and getting had to come by whilst they are gone, I hate the keypad-only systems. You can set this technique applying the essential fob, which can transmit via our metal door or arm it by phone.
As for the alarm component, I have had this go off accidentally and by design. The accident part had to do with guests who didn't comply with directions and my cat. In each and every case, I was notified soon enough to disarm it reasonably easily. The alarm is loud and deafening inside the apartment, and is unquestionably loud adequate to be heard within the developing.
I would highly advise this technique. You can use it with a monitoring organization simply because that is supported, but it undoubtedly beats the $800.00 models that these monitoring organizations charge for their systems. Plus installation is easy and DIY. I feel safe at night and when I am away. The day-to-day use is simple and very easy to function into your morning/night routine.
